I am Ricardo Silva

Ricardo J. Silva is an author, scientist, educator, and international consultant whose work bridges advanced technology, human-centered innovation, and global health. His writing spans science fiction, including the Comet Surfer series, and scientific and academic texts in artificial intelligence, systems engineering, and biomedical innovation. With over two decades of academic experience, Ricardo has served as a faculty member, program director, and curriculum designer across multiple universities. He has developed graduate-level courses, executive workshops, and professional training programs in AI, innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology strategy, and has been invited globally as a keynote speaker on the future of intelligent systems and health technologies.

As a consultant and advisor, Ricardo supports universities, health systems, startups, and growth-stage companies in their evolution from research and product development to business planning, regulatory navigation, and international expansion. His work includes mentoring early-stage innovators, strengthening R&D pipelines, facilitating industry–academia partnerships, and guiding organizations as they enter new markets.

He also has deep experience in international standards and accreditation, contributing to IEEE standards development, serving on the GCEA Clinical Engineering Accreditation program, and acting as a Regional Representative for TEMOS International, where he helps advance global quality, safety, and excellence in healthcare delivery.
